Hi All,
So a little while back I approached one of my friends Sydney because I wanted to do a couple shoot since I had never done one, she gladly said yes since she wanted some nice shots of her and her Boo Casey (first mistake 1).
I was so excited that I treated it like a real shoot more than I ever have for a free shoot. I went to my location and did some planning and scouting so the shoot would run smoothly. I created a shot list and itinerary everything (I had a full fledge binder of information). Once the shoot started all my hard work actually paid off, we went to this place I love shooting at in the Tonto National Forest (I might have gotten my car stuck there on a few occasions.)
It was interesting they are a cute couple and Casey no harm meant, but he is a goofball! While we were posing he would make funny faces or make Sydney laugh and not the cute Sydney laugh that all her friends know, but a real hardy laugh that just made me crack up. He almost jumped into the river we were near, he got changed in the middle of the forest just dropping trow without one thought to it, which had Sydney covering him for dear life! (she was so flustered, but she was having so much fun and thats all I wanted)
There is one story that I love telling from this shoot. While we were walking on the road to our last location Casey was walking behind us and somewhere along the way he found this "great" stick that he just need to swing and hit things with (typical male). When Sydney notice she was dying trying to make him give up his stick but until he had broken it to be so small that it wasn't "great" anymore he would not put it down. In hindsight I should have gotten a shot of the stick as a detail shot (that would have been amazing, think about it a really artistic shot of a stick!)
Overall I am so happy they were my first couple, it went smoothly and I had fun, they had fun and when I was editing the pictures I could remember the things that happened in between the pictures and that is one of the things I love most about being a photographer. Remembering the memories of the shoot the things only you and the clients know. . . our secret memories.
