Hi All,
So one of my good my friends and fellow photographer Alex Campos was so kindly brought (dragged by his feet) into the studio to model for me. I
I had a class assignment where we had to try to create a portrait that was different then what we had done before. I wanted to try a sports portrait where the lighting was something a little harsher and was very similar to a local photographer called Joel Grimes. (I mean the lighting is called the Grimes lighting)
It was fun I had my friend Casey there as my assistant and we had so much fun! We were bumping to Brittany Spears, crying to Adele (well I was crying and they were laughing) and we even got down to some good old fashion Lady GAGA! (If you can't tell all of us are very GAY!!!!)
I love how the photos came out and I nailed the lighting and the images I got were so good I was actually starting to see myself as a true photographer and not just a novice with a good camera! (YAY growth)
But out of it all I had fun, we were laughing like crazy, we also had two little events take place, one was one of my lights started to tip, but the great thing about all three of us being photographers is that we all ran for that light so quickly it was safe from all angles. There was no place that it could go but into our hands! (take that really expensive and suicidal light!. . . and gravity)
The second incident had to do with another falling object. (gravity was apparently turned on high that day) We had a changing area made for Alex so he could change into his outfits and while we were shooting I am pressed against the door out of the studio and Casey is right next to me, the next thing you know the partition that was dividing the changing area from the studio falls, it scares Alex and I snap a photo (on accident) with his mouth and face showing utter fear! It was beautiful, while Casey goes to pick up the partition I see the face I captured and start to die laughing and my elbow decides hit the doorknob and next thing you know I am on the floor in the hallway outside of the studio. It was so funny we were all done and all on the floor with the giggles it was amazing. (as I am writing this I now see how gravity actually won this battle since all of us ended up on the floor, well played gravity!)
So yea that was fun!
