Creative Focused Producer

MY WORK

Every project has a story behind it, and these case studies are where I get to show a little more than just the final photos or videos. From commercials and event coverage to studio productions and campaign work, this page breaks down the planning, production, and creative problem solving that went into bringing each project to life.

T.W. Lewis Center for Student Success

Producer: Mathew McGraw | Videographer: Brian Roth | Editor: Evelyn Boggess | Graphic Designer: Kaleigh Van Dam | Project Manager: Miranda Garibaldi

THE GRAND REVEAL

When the T.W. Lewis Center for Student Success opened on GCU’s campus, the goal wasn’t just to document a new building section; it was to tell the story behind it. My team was tasked with capturing the construction, the people involved, and the impact the center would have on students.

Through a combination of photography, interviews, time-lapse footage, and a final documentary-style video, the project documented the center’s journey from construction site to grand opening.

Project Overview

Design Created by: Kaleigh Van Dam

The T.W. Lewis Center for Student Success was designed to create a space dedicated to student growth, mentorship, and leadership development.

To help introduce the center to students, faculty, and the broader community, the project required a collection of visual assets documenting both the construction process and the building's opening.

The Final Deliverables Included:

  • construction timelapse footage

  • testimonial interviews

  • event photography

  • promotional imagery

  • a narrative video for the ribbon-cutting ceremony

Together, these pieces helped tell the story of the center and the impact it was designed to have on students.

Project Deliverables

The project resulted in several key deliverables that could be used across university communications and marketing.

Grand Opening Video: A 3–5 minute documentary-style video combining interviews, construction time-lapse footage, and campus visuals.

Interview Compilation: A longer video containing the full interviews, created as a personal gift for Tom Lewis before the opening ceremony.

Photography Assets: Event coverage and environmental imagery documenting both the facility and the celebration of its opening.

Responsibilities

• Coordinated interview scheduling and production logistics for multiple interviewees
• Assisted in planning the video narrative and interview approach
• Managed production documentation and shoot planning
• Helped coordinate capture of construction timelapse and campus visuals
• Supported event coverage planning for the ribbon-cutting ceremony
• Assisted in organizing assets used in the final edit

My Part in the Chaos

As a producer on this project, my role focused on coordinating the production elements needed to capture and tell the story of the T.W. Lewis Center for Student Success.

This included organizing interview logistics, coordinating production schedules, managing communication between stakeholders, and ensuring that the video and photography components captured the key moments leading up to the center’s grand opening.

I worked closely with the creative team to plan interview shoots, locally and nationally, capture construction and campus visuals, and gather the assets needed to build the final narrative used in the ribbon-cutting video.

Capturing the People Behind the Project

To tell the story of the center, we conducted interviews with individuals connected to the project, including university leaders, students, and community partners.

Each interview provided a different perspective on why the center was created and what it would mean for future students.

These interviews formed the backbone of the narrative used in the final video

Interview Participants: Tom Lewis, Mike Pence, Doug Ducey, Kale Gober, John Kaites, Sheri Smith, Ken Brissa, Andrew Bussmann, Connor Vicary, Shannon Clancy, Kevin Youngblood, Mark Medows, and more.

Documenting the Construction

One of the key visual elements of the project was capturing the transformation of the space as the center was built.

Time-lapse cameras documented the construction process over several months, providing a visual timeline that could later be incorporated into the final video.

This footage helped show the scale of the project and created a compelling visual transition from construction site to finished facility.

The Grand Opening

The opening of the center brought together students, university leadership, and community members to celebrate the completion of the project.

Event photography captured key moments from the ceremony, including speeches, guest interactions, and the official ribbon cutting.

These images were used for university communications, marketing materials, and archival documentation of the event.

Final Outcome

The completed video premiered during the T.W. Lewis Center for Student Success Grand Opening, helping introduce the facility and its mission to students and guests attending the ceremony.

By combining construction documentation, interviews, and event photography, the project captured both the scale of the building and the people behind its creation.

The final collection of assets continues to serve as visual documentation of the center and its role in supporting future students.
