Creative Focused Producer

MY WORK

Every project has a story behind it, and these case studies are where I get to show a little more than just the final photos or videos. From commercials and event coverage to studio productions and campaign work, this page breaks down the planning, production, and creative problem solving that went into bringing each project to life.

COE Core Values Instructor Series

Producer: Mathew McGraw | Videographer: Connor Child | Editor: Jayson Reyes | Project Manager: Miranda Garibaldi

The Magic Words

A studio-based educational video series produced for Grand Canyon University’s College of Education featuring faculty-led discussions on educational values, personal teaching experiences, and Christian worldview.

About The Project

Grand Canyon University’s College of Education developed a faculty-led video series designed to explore core educational values through personal teaching experiences and a Christian worldview.

The project consisted of a multi-video studio production featuring instructors discussing topics revolving around the 5 Pillars of Education. The Pillars are Compassion, Integrity, Service, Respect, and Love in a format that could be shared directly with student teachers within classroom environments. The videos were released on a weekly basis across the Spring 2026 School Semester.

The goal of the series was to create a consistent and approachable educational resource that felt both personal and professionally produced while maintaining visual continuity across all videos.

Project Deliverables

12 Educational Videos

Instructor-led educational discussions filmed for classroom use.

Faculty Classroom Content

MY PART IN THE CHAOS

My role on this project focused on coordinating the studio production process and helping faculty members feel comfortable on camera throughout the recording sessions.

I managed scheduling for the series by organizing studio availability, coordinating with the videographer’s schedule, and aligning recording times with faculty availability. This included building production schedules with setup time, buffer space, and breaks to help maintain a comfortable recording environment during longer shoot days.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinated faculty, studio, and videographer scheduling across the video series

  • Built production schedules including setup time, buffer periods, and breaks

  • Prepared and organized scripts within the teleprompter software

  • Guided faculty through teleprompter workflow and on-camera delivery

  • Assisted talent with pacing, confidence, and presentation comfort during filming

  • Conducted script review and quality assurance during recording sessions

  • Maintained production consistency across multiple instructor videos

Because many of the instructors had little experience working with teleprompters, I also guided talent through the recording process by explaining how the sessions would work, how the videos would ultimately be used, and how the teleprompter system could be adjusted to match their preferred reading pace and comfort level.

During production, I prepared scripts within the teleprompter software and handled script review during recording sessions to ensure messaging accuracy and identify needed retakes while maintaining consistency across the series.

The Producer Production Process

Creating A Consistent Visual System

Although each instructor brought a different personality and teaching style to the series, the visual approach remained intentionally consistent across all productions.

Using a unified studio setup, branded background treatment, and standardized framing helped the series feel cohesive while still allowing each instructor’s individuality to come through naturally on camera.

Helping Faculty Feel Comfortable On Camera

Many of the instructors featured in the series had little experience working with teleprompters or long-form scripted video delivery. Part of the production process involved helping faculty members feel comfortable on camera by adjusting pacing, allowing flexibility within delivery styles, and creating a relaxed studio environment throughout filming.

Rather than forcing every speaker into the same presentation style, the goal was to maintain visual and technical consistency while allowing each instructor’s personality and teaching style to come through naturally.

This playlist features the full College of Education Core Values Instructor Series created for Grand Canyon University. Across these videos, GCU faculty members share personal stories, classroom experiences, and educational perspectives tied to the university’s core values and Christian worldview. The series was produced as a studio-based educational resource designed to support faculty-led student learning and discussion.

The Full Series

The completed series provided Grand Canyon University’s College of Education with a scalable educational video resource designed for long-term classroom use and digital distribution.

By combining a consistent visual approach with faculty-driven storytelling, the project created a collection of videos that felt both professional and personal while supporting the university’s educational mission and classroom experience.

FINAL THOUGHT

What started as a straightforward studio production quickly became a larger exercise in consistency, communication, and creating an environment where people felt comfortable enough to be themselves on camera. While the technical side of the project focused on producing a unified educational video series, a major part of the process was helping each instructor feel confident while still maintaining a cohesive visual identity across the entire series.

Because many of the faculty members had little experience working with teleprompters or long-form scripted delivery, the production process became just as much about guidance and comfort as it was lighting, framing, and scheduling. Every recording session required balancing technical consistency with individual personality, allowing instructors to present in a way that felt natural and authentic to them.

In the end, the series delivered a scalable educational resource for Grand Canyon University’s College of Education while creating content that felt professional, approachable, and genuinely human.
